Working in a style she refers to as pseudo-raw, Allegrone produces complex, abstract works awash with cyclical themes of destruction and rebirth. Through successive layers of paint she is able to suggest tangible concepts in the atmospheric “environments” which populate her paintings. Fascinated with the unknown, Allegrone paints in the hopes of stimulating exploration of the unfamiliar realms of life and the subconscious.
