JASON HANASIK
Jason Hanasik, a San Francisco based photographer and a Hampton Roads native, received his BFA Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Purchase before moving on to the California College of the Arts in San Francisco where he received his MFA. His photographs and videos have been exhibited internationally and have been published in various journals and publications, including Capricious Magazine and Exposure, the journal for the Society for Photographic Education. In 2009, Hanasik’s project, HE OPENED UP SOMEWHERE ALONG THE EASTERN SHORE, was honored by Aperture Magazine during their annual Project Competition. As a public lecturer, Hanasik has delivered talks on his work and contemporary photographic practice at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia as well as at various public and private colleges across the country. In addition to exhibiting, Hanasik is an advisor in the MFA program at California College of the Arts and an instructor at the ASUC Art Studio at the University of California at Berkeley.
